I'm a twenty-three year old recent college graduate and cautiously aspiring writer. I was your stereotypical English major with lots of pretentious interests like "modernist literature" and "the construction of gender and sexuality." I also enjoyed studying languages, especially Russian. I'm currently taking a break from academia to waste my mind in a job that requires concentration and organization but not original thought.
I really love books. Authors I enjoy include, in no particular order, James Joyce (!!), William Faulkner, Virginia Woolf, E.M. Forster, Herman Melville, Mikhail Bulgakov, Alice Munro, Junot Diaz, Rivka Galchen, John Updike (usually), William Shakespeare (obligatory), Walt Whitman (don't know what's going on, but it's pretty), and Nathaniel Hawthorne.
I write original fiction that I rarely show to anyone, and fan fiction, which I show to whoever will read it. I've been involved in various fandoms in the six or so years I've had this journal, and you can find the remnants of most of them here: http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=l_stone.
These fandoms include, in order of appearance:
-Rent (2006-2007; Mark/Roger) -Fruits Basket (2007; mostly a real-world fandom obsession; Haru/Yuki, Yuki/Kyo, Shigure/Hatori) -Harry Potter (2007-2008; Sirius/Remus, quite possibly still the pairing I would call my OTP) -Star Trek (2009-present; Kirk/Spock; see my other journal, red_at_three) -Sherlock (2012-present; Sherlock/John)
